🩺 Appointments and How to Contact Us

Our Approach to Appointments

We use a Total Triage system to make sure you are seen by the right clinician, at the right time, based on your needs.

All requests are reviewed on the same day by our clinical team, and we will arrange care in a timeframe that is appropriate for your condition.

You can access the triage form here: Contact us about your request - Accurx Patient Portal

How to Contact Us

You can contact the practice in whichever way is easiest for you:

  • 📞 By phone

  • 💻 Online via our website (AccuRx)

  • 📱 Using the NHS App

  • 🏥 In person at reception

If you are unable to use online services, our team will complete a request on your behalf.

Online Requests (AccuRx)

Our online system is available during core hours (8:00am – 6:30pm) and offers three options:

1) I have a health problem

Use this for new or worsening medical issues.

2) I have an admin query

Use this for non-clinical requests, such as:

  • Fit (sick) notes

  • Prescription queries

  • Test result queries

  • Fit notes will be processed within 1 working day

  • Repeat prescriptions are processed within 72 hours (please allow extra time for your pharmacy)

3) I have a routine care request

Use this for planned care such as:

  • Cervical screening

  • Routine immunisations

  • Chronic disease reviews

What Happens Next?

  • Your request will be reviewed the same day

  • You will usually receive a response within 1 working day

  • We may contact you for further information if needed

The outcome may include:

  • A GP or nurse appointment (face-to-face or telephone)

  • Advice or treatment

  • Referral to another service (e.g. pharmacy, physiotherapy, hospital)

Urgent Problems

If you feel your problem is urgent, please contact the practice by phone so we can assess you promptly.

For life-threatening emergencies, call 999.

When we are closed, please contact NHS 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk.

Patients Who Cannot Use Online Services

We understand that not everyone can access or use online forms.

If this applies to you, please:

  • Call the surgery, or

  • Visit us in person

Our team will complete a request on your behalf for clinical review.

How We Use Triage

“Triage” means assessing your request to decide:

  • How urgent it is

  • What type of care you need

  • Which clinician or service is most appropriate

This helps us provide safe, efficient, and fair access for all patients.

Booking Appointments

  • Most GP appointments are arranged following clinical review of your request

  • Where appropriate, appointments may be booked in advance

  • You can request a specific GP, although this may depend on availability

Cancelling or Changing an Appointment

You can:

  • Call the surgery

  • Use the link in your text reminder

  • Submit an admin request online

Home Visits

Home visits are available for patients who are housebound or too unwell to attend the surgery.

These are arranged by a clinician, with urgent cases prioritised.
